Bruce Harris practices as a full-time commercial arbitrator (having started part-time in 1975) dealing with all kinds of commercial trading disputes, particularly maritime matters, predominantly in London arbitrations but also elsewhere, both as a member of tribunal and as sole arbitrator (including umpire).

Bruce is a past president of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (1991-3 and 2020-2021) and Past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, as well as co-author of the most successful Commentary on the Arbitration Act 1996 (now in its 4th edition) and consultant editor of London Maritime Arbitration (now in its 3rd edition).
